The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks lost in the closing seconds to SIU-Edwardsville 70-69 to fall to 3-10 on the season.  Calvin Williams led the Redhawks with 22 points and Kenard Moore scored 19.

The University also announced on Wednesday that they have fired their men’s basketball coach Scott Edgar who was placed on administrative leave after news surfaced of possible NCAA violations this fall.

Their case won’t be heard until mid-April.  SEMO bought out the last two year’s of Edgar’s contract.  Zac Roman, an assistant under Edgar has coached the team all season.

The Redhawks led 32-29 at the half despite shooting just 33% from the floor in the first half.  SEMO jumped out to a big lead early up by 11 just 5:21 into the game.  In the second half SIUE shot a much better 50% from the floor and were up by as many at 13 with just over 10 minutes to play thanks to a 27-11 to start the half.  SIUE hit the winning shot with :02 left to go up by one on a three pointer after they came up with a steal with :25 to go.
