Carl Peterson will leave after this season Chiefs’ president/general manager Carl Peterson resigned today effective at the end of the season.  Chiefs’ chairman Clark Hunt said the search for a new general manager will begin immediately.

Vice President Denny Thum will serve as the Chiefs’ interim president and general manager.

Chiefs fans have been groaning about the inept play on the field, yet the team continued to hike parking fees.  As far as the record, I always said at the beginning of the year, I liked the draft choices the team made and there would be some growing pains, but I think we’re seeing a team that doesn’t know how to win.

Now that Peterson is on his way out, it’s time for Herm Edwards to go.  This team lacks the killer instinct to put teams away.  All Edwards could say after yesterday’s debacle in the final 91 seconds was that "you have to give credit to San Diego."

No!  That’s not what you say.  You come out and call guys out.  You tell Dwayne Bowe he has to hang onto that onside kick.  You tell Conner Barth you’ve got to make field goals in the NFL.    You tell Tyler Thigpen he’s got two weeks to show he can quite throwing to Tony Gonzalez when he’s surrounded by three guys or he’s out.  Don’t give San Diego credit.  The Chiefs have no backbone and it’s because of Herm Edwards and his ho-hum attitude.

Give the fans something to rally around.  Terrell Owens can call out his quarterback and tight end and yet what happens?  They come out and kick the Super Bowl Champs’ butts.

What the Chiefs need is a guy who can evaluate talent on the managerial level and a guy who can motivate that talent on the field.  Here you Mr. Clark Hunt.  Go after Marty Schottenheimer for your GM, and bring back Bill Cowher as your head coach.  Let’s get a coach who motivate.  Let’s make Arrowhead a fearful place to play.  Let’s not squander 11 point lead in the final minutes of a game.

Let’s get serious about winning.
