Missouri Western senior offensive lineman Roger Allen (Raytown, Mo.) and Northwest Missouri State senior offensive lineman Jeremy Davis (Port Neches, Texas) have been selected to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-America Team.

Allen was the anchor of a Griffon offense that averaged 354 yards of total offense a game and scored 27.4 points per game in 2008. Allen started all 48 games during his four seasons in a Griffon uniform. He led his team to four straight post season appearances (Mineral Water Bowl -2005, 2007, 2008 and first ever playoff appearance in 2006) and helped Western win a school record nine games three out of the past four seasons (2005, 2006 and 2007).

Northwest has had a representative on the team for 13 straight seasons. Davis is the first Bearcat offensive lineman selected by the AFCA since Seth Wand was chosen in back-to-back years in 2001 and 2002.  Davis anchors a line that has helped lead the way for running back LaRon Council’s 36 touchdowns this season, three shy of the NCAA record.

The Bearcats play Minnesota-Duluth for the Division II National Championship Saturday in Florence, AL.
