Both Lindenwood and Columbia College lost in the final round of pool play yesterday in the NAIA Volleyball National Tournament .  Lindenwood was eliminated when they lost to Bellevue Nebraska three sets to one.  They go 1-2 in pool play and are eliminated. 

Columbia lost to Asuza Pacific, but finish 2-1 in pool play and advance to the final 12 in single elimination play starting today at 9:15 against Georgetown Kentucky.

If they Cougars win, they’ll advance to the quarterfinals today at 3:45 against Fresno Pacific.  The seminfinals and championship game tomorrow.

Columbia never got on pace against Azusa Pacific, trailing a majority of the time but never by much. The Cougars were out of sync and it showed. Outside hitter Flavia Lino was the only Cougar to hit in double figures with 19 kills. Maria Omondi and Juliana Da Silva chipped in nine kills a piece, while Omondi had a team high five blocks. Setter Luana Branco notched 36 assists, six kills and six blocks.

Jill Baker led Azusa Pacific with 16 kills in 31 attempts.
