The St. Louis Blues did something last night, they haven’t done in the past 13 years…lose a game in Buffalo.  The Sabres scored three quick first period goals and held onto a 4-3 win.

After falling behind 3-0, the Blues cut it to 3-2 on Patrik Berglund’s goal in the second, but couldn’t get any closer despite a great relief role by back-up goal Chris Mason who made 24 saves after coming in for Manny Legace who still looks rusty after giving up three goals on the first seven shots he faced.

St. Louis is winless in its last six, with five regulation losses, to drop to 5-8-1.  It hasn’t helped that the Blues are without second leading scorer Paul Kariya who missed his third game with an undisclosed "lower-body" injury.  Kariya expected to be on the ice on Friday night when the Blues are in Chicago.
