The St. Louis Rams turned the ball over five times, three fumbles and two interceptions and the New York Jets turned that into 27 points on their way to a 47-3 win over the Rams at the Meadowlands.  The loss moves the Rams to 2-7 on the year.

Thomas Jones rushed for 149 yards on 26 carries for three touchdowns and it was an early day for Brett Favre who was 14 of 19 for 167 yards and one touchdown.

The Jets scored on their first two possessions to take a 10-0 lead, then Marc Bulger fumbled and the Jets returned it for another touchdown to go up 17-0 in the first quarter.  After a Rams three and out, the Jets went 12 more plays and made the score 24-0 on Favre’s touchdown pass.

The Jets would finish the half with three Jay Feely field goals and another touchdown.  The Jets scored on every possession of the first half.  New York’s 44 point win was the biggest in their history.
