The Missouri State Bears women’s soccer team (10-6-2) has advanced to the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament after beating host 
Creighton 4-2 in penalty kicks.  The Bears will play second-seeded Evansville (11-4-2) on Friday at 5 pm.

After a scoreless tie, Bears’ goalkeeper Jackie Jasper stopped CU’s first shot.  Then MSU got goals in from Jenna Dobkins and Jenna Laughlin, while CU’ answered with two goals of their own.   

In the fourth round of the penalty kicks, Allison Osmundson found the back of the net to give MSU a 3-2 lead. The Bears then clinched the match when junior Samantha Aguilar scored to conclude the defensive-minded contest.

The match was delayed for one hour and 12 minutes due to lighning.
