America’s economy remains in trouble, despite the economic stimulus package approved by Congress and signed by President Bush. And southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt (R-MO), who helped craft the package, says it’s going to take time to produce the desired results.

Blunt, the U.S. House Minority Whip, doubts Congress will need to pass additional aid for the economy. He says there is already some good news in that foreign markets are in deeper trouble than are U.S. markets.

Blunt says the $700-billion put in the package is an investment in the future. He thinks it is an adequate amount which must be used wisely by the private sector with the government involved in monitoring and oversight.
