A Moberly minister is charged with taking a 16-year-old girl to a Columbia motel and molesting her in May. Pastor James Wilson denied taking a 16 year-old girl from Moberly to Columbia until authorities confronted him with the Motel 6 registration.
In the statement, the accuser stated her mother dropped her off at a gas station near the Terrill Road Christian Church and School in Moberly, where Wilson is Pastor and Principal. She stated Wilson had told her to wait for him there and he picked her up around 8 a.m. and took her to a motel in Columbia.
She stated she and Wilson stayed in a room on the third floor and watched cartoons. She stated Wilson molested until she protested and he stopped.
The accuser stated she and Wilson were in the room about 20 minutes, and then he took her back to the gas station around 10:30 a.m.
When she arrived back at school, she stated she told Pastor Wilson’s wife, a school administrator, that she had had a dentist appointment and that’s why she was late.
The accuser later identified the Motel 6 on I-70 Drive Southwest in Columbia. When authorities searched the Motel 6 records, they found registration forms showing James Wilson checked into Room 316 on May 6th. The room and motel match the description given in the accuser’s statement.
The probable cause statement also state that Wilson attempted to contact the accuser even after her parents removed her from Terrill Road Christian Academy.
Assistant Boone County prosecutor Andy Scholz said his office has filed a misdemanor child molestation charge against Wilson. He is free on a $25,000 bond, with the condition that he not make contact with the accuser or anyone under the age of 18.
