The annual Mizzou Black and Gold game will take place this Friday evening at 7pm at Mizzou Arena.  Seven newcomers will give the Tigers a new look for the 2008-09 season.

The Tigers lost 11 of their last 16 games of the season to finish 16-16.  Head coach Mike Anderson had to deal with a mid-season off court incident that led to Stefhon Hannah being kicked off the team and after that the team never recovered.

Now, there are new faces for Anderson’s third year at Mizzou.  The biggest newcomer who will make an instant impact is junior transfer Zaire Taylor who comes to the Tigers from Delaware.  Taylor was able to practice with Mizzou last season.

The Tigers also have guards Marcus Denmon, Miguel Paul, and Kim English, along with forwards Keith Ramsey, Steve Moore and Lawrence Bowers.  In addition to DeMarre Carroll and Leo Lyons who were named Big 12 honorable mentions, the Tigers return JT Tiller and Matt Lawrence.

Mizzou will host media day, Wednesday October 15th, and the Missourinet will have audio and video from the event posted on this site.
