The Cardinals captured their fourth win in a row Friday night, edging the Cincinnati Reds 7-6 at Busch Stadium.

Albert Pujols was 3-for-3 in the victory, putting pressure on Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones in the race for the National League batting title.  Pujols’ big night raised his season average to .357, eight points behind Jones’ .365.

Braden Looper pitched well, going seven innings and giving up four runs.  He failed to factor into the decision though, and his season record finished at 12-14.
