The Missouri Southern volleyball team struggled to find their offense tonight as the University of Nebraska-Omaha defeated the Lions in straight sets tonight, 3-0. Individual scores were 25-15, 25-21, 25-22.

Southern (4-6, 0-1 MIAA) hit just .029 in the first set and .017 in the second set as the Mavericks jumped out to an early lead en route to the sweep.

UNO (5-6, 1-0 MIAA) bookended solid hitting performances in the first and third set with a .089 in the second set. The Mavs hit .239 as a team in the match.

Ashlee Russell hit .615 with eight kills and three digs to lead the Lions. Sarah Joles had 22 assists, while Kari Hammerbacher and Ashley Hill had 17 and 10 digs, respectively.

The Lions will be back in action this Friday when they play host to Central Missouri at 7 pm in Young Gymnasium.
