Ryan Shealy has been playing a lot at first base in this final month and may be the answer at that position next year after hitting his fifth home run in the Royals’ fifth win in a row, 6-3 over Seattle.

Brandon Duckworth gave the Royals five good innings allowing just two runs and the Royals’ used the long ball to beat Seattle.  John Buck hit a solo shot in the third inning, his 9 th of the year.  After Seattle tied the game in fourth, the Royals added a run to take a 2-1 lead, then got after M’s starter Brandon Morrow again in the fifth with a four run thanks to a solo homer from David DeJesus and a two run shot by Shealy.

With Shealy’s fifth homer in nine games, he’s hit .371 in his first nine games with 11 RBIs.

The Royals go for six straight as Gil Meche takes on his former team.
