Kyle Davies pitched was he said was his best game in the majors tossing eight shut out innings while allowing just four hits to Seattle and striking out eight as the Royals have now won four straight with their 3-0 win over the Mariners.

Davies talked about challenging the hitters and keeping his pitch count low as being keys to his success.  His best start before this one was also against Seattle when he tossed seven innings in a no-decision when he gave up three runs.

Mark Teahen drove in the first two runs with singles in the first and fourth.  David DeJesus singled home a run as well in the seventh.  The Royals could have scored more, but ran themselves into outs on the base paths.

Ryan Shealy was thrown out trying to go from first to third on Teahen’s first inning hit and Alex Gordon was thrown out trying to score on a double in the seventh.  DeJesus eventually came through with the insurance hit.
