The Missouri Tigers have moved up to # 5 in the Associated Press poll following their 69-17 win over Nevada while Georgia slips a bit and Ohio State falls out of the top 10.

January is still a long way off, but it’s never too early to start talking about the National title picture.

With USC dominating an overrated Ohio State team (with or without Beanie Wells), the Trojans secure the number one spot again.  Oklahoma’s big win at Washington was good enough to jump past Georgia who needed a fumble at the goalline to secure a win over South Carolina.

The Buckeyes dropped to 13 th allowing the Missouri Tigers to move up one spot.

If you like watching the ratings, I expect Missouri to hold at # 5 for awhile.  I think pollsters are so much in love with the SEC that even a stumble by one of those teams (Georgia and/or Florida) won’t be enough for Mizzou to move up right away.

After watching Oklahoma on Saturday night, it appears they are going to be really good again and that’s what Missouri needs.  I know there is so much time left in the season, but if OU can hold onto # 2 in the nation, it would give the Tigers the necessary street creds to move into a national championship scenario if they were to get to the Sooners in the Big 12 game.

Of course, all of this is subject to change…it is college football after all.
