Chris Perez, (this week’s closer) gave up two runs in the bottom of the 9th and the Cardinals blow a three run lead losing Wednesday afternoon 4-3 in Arizona.  The Cards can’t gain on Milwaukee who lost at home to New York.

Troy Glaus continued his recent power surge, picking up his 23rd home run and 300th of his career.  That came in the 3rd inning off Doug Davis which gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.  St. Louis had a 3-0 lead.  After Kyle Lohse exited after six scoreless innings, Kyle McClellan gave up two runs on a hit and two walks in two-thirds of an inning.

In the bottom of the 9th, Perez gave up a lead off triple to Stephen Drew.  After David Eckstein flew out, Conner Jackson singled and would score the game winner on a double by Adam Dunn.
