Carl Edwards picked up his sixth NASCAR Sprint win of the year and 13 th of his career as he won the Sharpie 500 at Bristol Speedway, bumping past points leader Kyle Busch with 30 laps to go.  The move may have officially started a new rivalry.

With the win Edwards secures a spot in the Cup Chase with two races to go, plus narrows Busch’s bonus points lead to 30.  After the race, Edwards said he had to try something to make his move and bumping Busch was his only option.

After the race, Busch took exception telling NASCAR.com , "He hit me getting into Turn 1, whatever. Carl’s going to say he’s sorry, that he didn’t want to race that way, but he always does. We’ll take it, we’ll go on and we’ll race him that way in the Chase if that’s the way he wants to race.’

Edwards, who has been chasing NASCAR’s hottest racer all year has no regrets about the move and is ready for any challenge.  "Let’s make it real clear — I’m not apologizing for it, we’re even.  They keep talking about rivalries, we might have one now.’
