The Cardinals blasted the Braves 18-3 last night in Adam Wainwright’s return.  As far as Wainwright, six innings, one run on a pinch hit home run.  He threw 72 pitches and gave up five hits, walked one and struck out four, plus he got three hits of his on a night when everything went right for the offense, 18 runs on 26 hits, Yadier Molina four hits, four RBI.  Albert Pujols perfect 3 for 3 night, his batting average is .353.  As far as Wainwright, he was pumped up for this game and said he really needed to keep his emotions in check early on.

Manager Tony LaRussa said this is more than anyone could have expected out of Wainwright who had good location and was spotting his pitches well.
