The Republican National Convention begins Labor Day – Monday, September 1st. And, the day before the start of the event, presumptive GOP presidential nominee John McCain (R-AZ) will make a campaign stop in the Show-Me State.

Jack Jackson, the co-chair of the McCain Campaign in Missouri, confirms McCain will take part in a rally and picnic Sunday afternoon, August 31st, between 1pm and 5pm at the home of the River City Rascals baseball team in O’Fallon.

"We’re just looking to have a really great event," says Jackson, "And we’re looking for people from all over the state who want to attend."

Tickets will be required. And, while details for distribution are not yet finalized, they will be available at many locations. Says Jackson: "We’ll get them out to State Reps and to local Victory ’08 offices and have them be involved. But we’ll get them distributed throughout the state, that’s for sure."

Jackson says organizers are hoping for a crowd of between 5,000 and 10,000 people.
