Five Royals had three hits including Estaban German who drove in three runs while Billy Butler drove in a pair with seventh home run of the year as the Royals hang on for 9-7 win.

After Kyle Davies fell behind 3-0 after two innings, the offense came to life scoring a pair of runs from the second through fifth innings off Sox starter Mark Buehrle.  Butler’s home run in the third gave the Royals a 4-3 lead and Jose Guillen followed in the fourth with one on to make it a 6-3 lead.

With the score 8-3 in the eighth, things got interesting as the Sox scored four run getting to the usually dominate Ron Mahay, who gave up two home runs.  In fact manager Trey Hillman had to call on closer Joakim Soria for the final two outs in the innings.  Then Miguel Olivo put the Royals back up by two with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth and Soria closed out the ninth.
