Rod Smith Rod Smith, the former Missouri Southern star who was never drafted to play in the NFL retired yesterday after 13 seasons. 

He leads the Denver Broncos in career receptions (849), yards receiving (11,389), touchdown catches (68), touchdowns (71) and 100-yard games (31) while winning two Super Bowl rings. 

Smith had two hip surgeries in the last year and a half forcing his retirement at 38.  For more on his tearful press conference, click here .
