The Cardinals nearly pulled off another come from behind win, but unlike the San Diego Padres, the Milwaukee Brewers actually have talent and the ability to bounce back and that’s what happened in extra innings.

Ryan Franklin gave up a lead off home run to Bill Hall in the 10 th , and a total of three runs on four hits as the Brewers won 6-3 to move into a virtual tie with the Cardinals for second place.  The Cubs lost at Arizona so both the Cardinals and Brewers are two games back.

Troy Glaus continued his hot hitting rapping out a two run double in the first inning over Brewers’ start Seth McClung.  Joel Pineiro was pitching well into the 5 th , but ran into trouble giving up a three run homer to Richie Weeks.

The Cardinals battled in the 9 th to tie the game off Brewers’ closer Salomon Torres after Yoder Molina hit a ground rule double and scored on Brendan Ryan’s sac fly.

Tony Larissa and Joel Pineiro talk about the loss.
