The Royals have been outscored 23-4 in the first three games of their series with the Rays after Sunday’s 9-2 loss.  Luke Hochevar went just four innings, giving up seven runs, to fall to 5-7 on the year.

The two out hit was big in this game.  Esteban German getting the start at third base, delivered a two out hit in the second inning to give the Royals an early 2-0 lead and then that was it for the offense as they were limited to just four hits, while striking out eight times as the Rays’ were led by starter James Shield.

Six of the Rays nine runs were scored with two outs including a big four run third inning off Hochevar and a two run fourth.

The Royals have an 11:40am (local time) start as the Royals will send out Gil Meche hoping to avoid the four game sweep.
