Former Royal pitcher Jorge De La Rosa didn’t get much defensive support as he allowed just two earned runs, but the Royals hitters did their share of damage in his 4.2 innings as the Royals continue to pound the NL winning 7-3.

As much as De La Rosa struggled, Royals’ starter Zach Greinke was tough on the other side going six innings, allowing three runs while striking out 10.

Every Royal’s batter except Tony Pena in the 9 th spot reached base as the Royals get good hitting from recent call up Mike Aviles who went 2 for 3 to raise his average to .352.  Alex Gordon hit his 9 th home run of the year off Justin Speier in the bottom of the 7 th with one on to add to the Royals 5-3 lead at that point.

The Royals are 11-3 against the National League and have won nine of their last ten.
