http://www.ltgov.mo.gov/ Lt. Governor Peter Kinder will be in Springfield, as the chairman for the Missouri Tourism Commission, attending their June meeting.  However, tonight the one-time self admitted light hitting former little league outfielder will look for redemption.  He’s throwing out the first pitch of tonight’s Springfield Cardinals game.

I’ll take you back seven or eight years ago when Lt. Gov. Kinder threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game.

Now, he didn’t just stroll out there having not picked up a ball in years and just chuck the ball up there.  He practiced…a lot.  So much in fact, his sore arm prevented him from making it the mandatory 60 feet, six inches to the glove of third base coach Jose Oquendo.  Instead, the ball one hopped well short of his target.

Tonight, a determined Kinder is ready to make amends for that wild pitch.  He took time to talk with me about his preparation for the pitch, and his demotion to AA ball.

Plus, as chairman of the Missouri Tourism Commission, Kinder shares three great ideas on how to have weekend fun in the Show Me State without shelling out a lot of money at the gas pump.

Good luck Lt. Governor!   I hope my three tips work for you tonight!
