Kyle Davies pitched well again for this third straight start since being called up from AAA Omaha allowing just one run.  Mark Grudzielanek hit a home run and drove in four runs, but the bullpen blew up giving up seven runs in the 7th en route to an 11-5 loss.

Jeff Fulchino and Jimmy Gobble couldn’t retire a batter in the 7th inning as the Texas Rangers scored seven to come back from a 5-1 deficit.  David Murphy took Gobble deep with his first career grand slam.

Grudzielanek doubled in third and hit a two run homer in the sixth off Rangers’ starter Vicente Padilla who picked up the win.  Davies allowed just one run in his six innings on six hits and five walks.  It wasn’t a flawless start, but Davies at least kept his team in the game.  One thing he’s focused on since being called up was limiting his walks, although he did provide the handful of free passes.

Fulchino and Gobble combined to give up seven runs, six earned on four hits and two walks.  Yasahito Yabuta came on the finish the 7th and pitch a scoreless 8th. Brett Tomko, proving his comeback should come to an end gave up three runs in the 9th including Murphy’s second home run of the game.
