The Central Missouri Mules were knocked out of the D-II college world series yesterday losing to the number one team in the country Mount Olive from North Carolina 5-3.  A great run for the perennial powerhouse Mules who finish in a tie for third in the country among D-II baseball schools.

The Mules were led by Will Feil, who had three of the eight hits in the game, while Mike Hallam hit a solo homerun for one of the three runs. UCM struggled to get the big hit and stranded eight runners, while it was two unearned runs in the seventh inning by Mount Olive that proved to be the difference in the game. Brian McBryde hit and finished his career tied for sixth on the all-time NCAA-II hit list with 312.

MIAA pitcher of the year Mark Carey suffered his second loss on his 10-2 season giving up three runs in four and a third while striking out three, but walking five to go along with five hits
