The Missouri Foundation for Health , an organization which works on behalf of the uninsured and underinsured, has launched http://www.covermissouri.org/ – a website aimed at increasing health care coverage in the state.

Doctor James Kimmey, President and CEO of the Foundation, says the website will play a role in collecting information from Missourians and providing that information to policymakers working to address the situation. Doctor Kimmey says meetings will be held throughout the state to hear from those needing coverage and those trying to provide it.

The Foundation says there are 772,000 Missourians without health insurance. Doctor Kimmey acknowledges Governor Matt Blunt (R-MO) has asked the Foundation to collaborate with the state to improve healthcare quality, access, and affordability. But he says the Foundation does not want to put money it receives primarily into projects approved and recommended by the Blunt Administration.
