The Kansas City Royals drop their seventh game in a row as the Blue Jays top KC 3-1 Sunday afternoon at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Kansas City starter and losing pitcher Gil Meche (3-7) went 6 innings, allowing only 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 5 batters. But the Royals could only manage to put 1 run across the plate, despite pounding out 10 hits.

Dustin McGowan (3-4) pitched 7 innings for the win, giving up the only run as he spread out 9 hits. B.J. Ryan tossed a perfect 9th inning for his 11th save.

The Royals (21-29) and the Blue Jays (27-25) wrap up their series Monday afternoon in Toronto with Brett Tomko (2-5) taking the mound for Kansas City against Toronto’s Shaun Marcum (4-3).
