Adam Wainright rebounded from his last two subpar outings to dominate Los Angeles in a 2-1 St. Louis win at Chavez Ravine.

The Cardinal ace had allowed 12 runs in his two previous starts, but let just one Dodger cross the plate in the victory.  LA hitters mustered just five hits in Wainright’s seven innings of work, and his record now sits at 4-2.

The Dodgers’ Derek Lowe was almost as tough on the Cardinals, but one pitch cost him a "W," and take a wild guess at who it was who did the damage?  Ryan Ludwick continued his unbelievable start with a two-run homer in the third inning, and those two runs, of course, were the only tallies St. Louis would get.

Ludwick’s 3-for-4 night raised his average to .348, and he is now the Cards’ Triple Crown leader.  He is tops on the team in average, home runs, and RBI.
