Bartolo Colon pitched five innings and got the win in a Boston 6-3 victory of the Royals, making it three straight against Kansas City.  Colon raised his average to 15-7 in 25 starts against KC.

"He doesn’t throw as hard, but he still has good stuff," Joey Gathright told kcroyals.com "He kept the ball down, kept us on our toes. He still has good stuff no matter where he’s been and how long he’s been gone. He’s still Colon."

Gathright walked twice, singled twice and scored all three Royals runs in his return to the lineup after missing four games with a shoulder injury.  Jose Guillen, Alex Gordon, and David DeJesus all had RBI singles.

Gordon has reached base seven straight times (four hits and three walks) in the last two games and, on this trip, he’s batted .500 (9-for-18).

Brett Tomko fell to 2-5, giving up five runs including two homers, one to Jacoby Ellsbury to lead the game off and the other to Jason Varitek apart of the four run 5 th inning that did Tomko in.
