Rick Ankiel After making five rehab starts in April and May, Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder was held back a week after experiencing some soreness in his shoulder as he was rehabbing from rotator cuff surgery.

He threw bullpen sessions last Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and was scheduled to start tonight for AAA Memphis, however that is being put on hold 10-14 days.

He’s being held back because of what the team is saying is a "lack of range of motion in his left shoulder due to capsular irritation."

After "tweaking" his shoulder swinging on Friday night, outfielder Rick Ankiel was held out of the lineup for the third game in a row, but expect him back by the time the Cardinals head to L.A. to face Joe Torre’s Dodgers on Friday.
