The big economic development story to come out of the General Assembly this year is the $240-million incentive package offered to Bombardier Aerospace of Montreal in an effort to lure a plane assembly facility to an area near Kansas City International Airport.

Economic Development Director Greg Steinhoff says once you get beyond the huge Bombardier deal, a major accomplishment is raising the caps on the Quality Jobs Program which offers tax credits to businesses creating good paying jobs in Missouri.

Steinhoff points out annual tax credits under the Quality Jobs Program have been upped from $40-million to $60-million.
