The weather was ugly in St. Louis and so was the final score.  Cardinals lose to Pittsburgh 11-5.  Cards were up 5-4 heading into the 8 th inning and the bullpen crumbled.  Jason Isringhausen another blown save, and the loss.

Nate McLouth started the scoring early with a first-inning home run off Joel Pineiro. In the bottom half of the frame, however, Rick Ankiel hit a sacrifice fly to tie the score.

After adding another run on a sac fly in the third, the Cardinals busted the game open when they scored three runs in the fourth inning. Brendan Ryan and Skip Schumaker hit back-to-back singles and Chris Duncan followed with a two-run double to bring them both home. Duncan later scored on a Troy Glaus single.

After the home run, Pineiro cruised through the first four innings but got into trouble in the fifth. He gave up three runs and almost went through the entire order before Adam LaRoche flew out to end the inning.

Izzy talked after the game saying, it’s up to management to decide what happens next.
