The Cardinals have not dropped four of their last five, as former Red Bird Jeff Suppan shut down his former team as Milwaukee wins 5-3.

The Cards fell into a hole early as Braden Looper gave up two runs in the first inning after Looper hit Rickie Weeks and walked Tony Gwynn Jr. to start the game.

St. Louis cut the lead to 2-1, but gave up another run in the 3 rd on a Ryan Braun home run.  With two outs in the 8 th and the score 4-1, Ryan Ludwick continued his hot hitting, knocking his 8 th home run of the season to overtake Albert Pujols for the team lead cutting the lead to 4-2, but the Brewers made it 5-2 in the bottom of the 8 th and the Cardinals managed just a run off of Brian Shouse who was the first of the Brewers closer by committee after demoting Eric Gagne.

Tony LaRussa, Adam Kennedy, and Braden Looper comment on the game.
