Garrett Anderson is hitting .235 this year as the DH for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.  However, he’s hitting .412 against the Royals and last night single handedly beat Brian Bannister and Royals.

Anderson is 7 for 17 with two home runs, and 10 RBI in four games this year against the Royals.  Last night, he was 3 for 5 with a home run and all five runs batted in against Brian Bannister who now has lost four straight starts.

The Royals got started early jumping out to a 3-0 lead.  Mark Teahen’s walk plus back-to-back doubles by Miguel Olivo and Ross Gload gave the Royals a two run lead in the second.   Back to back doubles by Billy Butler and Alex Gordon, got a third-inning run.

Anderson in his career has driven in 83 runs against the Royals since 1994 and erased the Royals hard work by hitting a three run homer in the fourth to tie the game.  He then added RBI hits in the 5 th and 7 th .

The Royals are the lowest scoring team in all of baseball and have won just four of the last twenty-one  games at Kauffman against the Angels since 2003.
