Severe weather is moving west-to-east across Missouri, bringing some flooding and property damage with it. And there are reports of tornadoes touching down in parts of the state.

The storm has hit the Clay and Platte County areas hard. Reports from emergency responders in Clay County say five people have been hurt, six homes have been destroyed and about 220 others have been damaged. Ten homes are off their foundations.

Emergency management officials in Platte County say five empty railroad cars have been blown over.

The National Weather Service had severe weather warnings posted throughout the night and is posting new ones as the storm moves across the state.
