First Ladies Governor Matt Blunt’s signing of a supplemental appropriation bill to provide $3-million to begin much-needed structural repairs at the Governor’s Mansion was only the beginning. More money is needed for repairs and restoration at the Mansion.

To that end, First Lady Melanie Blunt has announced she is hosting a luncheon on June 25th to honor the Missouri First Ladies from the past 40 years and to focus on restoration efforts.

Flanked by former First Ladies Betty Hearnes and Lori Holden, Mrs. Blunt says in addition to the three First Ladies taking part in the announcement, the event will be attended by Carolyn Bond, Theresa Teasdale, Jean Carnahan, and Pat Wilson. Janet Ashcroft will be unable to attend because she will be traveling with her husband while he lectures overseas.

It is hoped the luncheon will raise 3-million dollars. Information is available through Missouri Mansion Preservation, Incorporated .
