Chris Long goes to St. Louis

The coaches wanted Glenn Dorsey, Rams management wanted Chris Long.  Management got their way.  The son of former Raider Howie Long, Chris Long a defensive end from Virginia was drafted by the Rams with 2nd pick.

This is a great move.  He’s talented and the kid’s a class act on the field.  He along with Carriker are going to make that Rams’ defensive very solid.

Here’s what NFL.com is saying about Long.  For the second straight year, the Rams go with a defensive lineman in the first round. Long played as a true freshman in 2004 and started 37 games over the past three years at Virginia. His best traits are strength and a quick first step. He will be used as an edge rusher in the 4-3 scheme employed by the Rams.
