Cleveland’s Casey Blake hit a grand slam and finished with four hits and six RBI as the Indians won 15-1 over the Royals on Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.

You knew it was just a matter a time before defending American League Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia got rolling.  He picked up his first win of the season with six shutout innings and 11 strikeouts.

Kansas City starter Gil Meche lasted just 3 1/3 innings, after giving up eight runs that included two home runs, including Blake’s grand slam in the fourth inning. It all started with three singles by Jhonny Peralta, Asdrubal Cabrera and a bunt by Franklin Gutierrez.

Blake’s  tough on Meche, going 11-for-23 (.478) against him with two homers and 12 RBIs.

The Royals had just six hits, all singles, and have scored just 12 runs in their five straight losses and have been outscored, 60-26, in their last eight games. The Royals are now won just three of their last 12 games after starting the season 6-2.
