The state ethics commission has dropped 14 candidates from the November ballot, including a candidate for governor and one for state treasurer. Commission executive director Bob Connor says they failed to file personal financial disclosure forms. He says candidates sign a document when they file for office that says they understand the legal requirements of filing proper reports.

The governor candidate kicked off the ballot is Democrat Christina Anderson of Springfield. The treasurer candidate is former Kansas City mayor and former state senator Charles Wheeler. They, and the other dozen candidates, could regain their positions by getting court orders reinstating them on the ballot.

The other candidates removed are eight candidates for the Missouri House and four candidates for county offenses.
