The St. Louis Cardinals bounced back from a 5-0 deficit with 2 runs in the 7th, 3 in the 8th, 2 more in the 9th, and the game winner in the top of the 10th inning to edge the Giants 8-7 Saturday afternoon at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

Chris Duncan was the Redbirds’ hitting hero on the day, collecting 3 hits in 5 at bats, driving in 2 runs and scoring a run. Ryan Ludwick and Rick Ankiel each drove in a pair of runs, as well.

Jason Isringhausen (1-0) earned the win out of the bullpen, pitching 1 inning in which he allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits. Anthony Reyes tossed a scoreless inning, giving up a hit, to pick up his 1st save. Erick Threets (0-1) allowed a run in the 10th to take the loss.

The Cardinals (9-3) try for the sweep Sunday afternoon against the Giants (4-8). Joel Pineiro (0-0) makes his first start for the Redbirds against Tim Lincecum (1-0) for the Giants.
