Kansas City wants an NHL team for the Sprint Center The Sprint Center in Kansas City is trying to lock down a date for an exhibition hockey game next fall.  Late September or early October is the time frame.  If the game is in September, the Blues will play the game.

If it doesn’t happen until early October which is just before the start of the season, expect the LA Kings, who are owned by the same group that runs the Sprint Center to play.  KC had hoped to lure the Predators away from Nashville earlier, but they are expected to sign a new lease this month.  Kansas City wants to showcase their arena and fans to the NHL in hopes of drawing interest from the league to expand or relocate another team.

Other teams that could play in the game would be the Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, and Minnesota Wild.
