Detroit celebrates their first goal (Bill Greenblatt, UPI) Home ice was not much better for the St. Louis Blues as they lost to Detroit 2-1, following the teams longest road trip in history in which the team failed to get a win.  Manny Legace, one of the few bright spots this season played well again.

However, his 30 saves weren’t enough as Johan Franzen scored a power play goal with 11 minutes to go in the third for the game winner.

Even though the Blues are 34 points behind Detroit in the standings, who will win another President’s Cup for having the most points in the regular season, the Blues play the Wings tough.  Detroit holds just a 4-3 advantage over St. Louis with one more game to play in Detroit.

On Saturday, the Blues will host Chicago which should be an interesting game after Blackhawks coach Denis Savard accused the Blues of dirty play on his young stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews.
