Joakim Soria blows save against Cubs The Royals gave up two runs in the 9 th and lose 6-5 to the Cubs.  John Bale trying to make his case for the starting rotation gave up four runs on five hits over 5 2/3 innings.  Jose Guillen stayed behind on the trip, still feeling lingering affects from a flu bug that has gone through quite a few players on the team.  The Royals are also saying Mark Grudzielanek should be in the lineup by Friday as he returns from a sore back.

Joakim Soria, the Royals closer couldn’t get the job done.  Reserve infielder Ronny Cedeno went 3-for-3 for the Cubs, including a game-tying RBI triple. Cedeno scored the game-winner on Casey McGehee’s pinch-hit single off Royals closer Joakim Soria. The game was played in front of 12,772 at HoHoKam Park, the Cubs’ seventh sellout.
