Green being wheeled off in '06 season opener The St. Louis Rams signed QB Trent Green to a three-year $8.9 million dollar contract yesterday.  Green is a native of Oakville, Mo. and Vianny High School grad.  This is his second go-round with Rams.  He played for the Rams in ’99 and ’00.

You’ll remember his knee injury paved the way for Kurt Warner to get his chance and he made the most of it bringing the Rams their first Super Bowl.

Green spent the 2007 season with the Miami Dolphins after spending the previous six seasons with the Chiefs.  While in Kansas City, he completed 1,720 of 2,777 passes (61.9%) for 21,459 yards with 147 touchdowns and 78 interceptions.  He is the club’s all-time leader in passer rating (87.3), average gain per attempt (7.73) and completions of 20 or more yards (261).  Green ranks second in Chiefs’ history in attempts, completions, yards, and touchdown passes, following only Hall of Famer Len Dawson in these categories.  After being selected to the Pro Bowl following the 2003 and 2005 seasons, Green became the first Chiefs’ quarterback to earn multiple berths since 1970.

"We have now solidified our quarterback position," said Rams Head Coach Scott Linehan.  "You will be hard-pressed to find the quality we have at that position.  Now we have another quarterback that has played in the Pro Bowl.  Trent not only brings experience, but adds leadership to our team."
