All of last night’s scoring in the Blues 2-1 loss to Phoenix happened in a three minute span of the first period.  The Blues continue to pepper opposing goalies, but yet have nothing to show for it.  They’ve scored just three goals in their last four games and have now lost five in a row.

Ryan Johnson Beats Bryzgalov Stick Side Ryan Johnson (Bill Greenblatt, UPI) got the Blues on the board first with a wrist shot in front of Coyote goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, 15:13 into the first period.  Ed Jovanowski and Niko Kapenen scored power play goals just :44 seconds apart just minutes after Johnson scored to give the Coyotes the 2-1 lead.

Phoenix has beaten the Blues nine out of the last 10 meetings, including all four this season. It is the first time in Coyotes franchise history they have swept a season series against St. Louis. St. Louis hasn’t beaten the Coyotes since April 3, 2007, at Phoenix.
