Columbia native, Carl Edwards won the Auto Club 500 in California after the race was postponed because of ran on Sunday. I don’t want to say Edwards predicted this win, but he certainly knew he had a good car coming into this race.
Just after his 19 th place finish at the Daytona 500, we caught up with Carl Edwards at the Capitol the next day and he talked about how well his car tested in California. I’ve got his comments below. He was dead on the money. Carl Edwards overtook Jimmie Johnson with 14 laps to go and pulled away before winning the race as a caution flag came out on the last lap to make it to Victory Lane .
It’s only two races, but Edwards has an opportunity to solidify himself in the Top 10 of the Cup point standings very early if he can come out with another good outing next week in Vegas.
