Missouri college officials are again reviewing and updating security procedures in the wake of a college campus shooting.

A gunman left five dead on the campus of Northern Illinois University before he shot and killed himself.

Missouri State Higher Education Commissioner Robert Stein says all college campuses in the state began reviewing procedures last year following the Virginia Tech shooting that killed 32. Stein emphasizes that everyone needs to participate, not just college officials.

Stein says he believes Missouri’s colleges have taken this seriously and are doing their utmost to prepare for any such shooting.
