The Missouri Tigers won in overtime on the road, beating Nebraska 86-78.  The Huskers made just one basket in the final 11 minutes of regulation, but hit 16 of 22 free throws to help tie the game at 71.  In fact, there was a 27-3 difference in free throw attempts in that second half.

6’11 forward Aleks Marich had a huge night for the Huksers scoring 32 points on 10 of 18 shooting.  He was 12 of 14 from the line and had 16 rebounds, but in overtime the Huskers settled for outside shots instead of pounding the ball inside and Mizzou took advantage rattling off nine straight points to begin overtime.

The Tigers found themselves down by 7 with six minutes to play in the first half, then went on a 20-2 run to start the second half.  The Tigers went to a man defense and that’s when Marich got hot and the Tigers allowed the Huskers to get back into the game.

Keon Lawrence is taking over that leadership role in the back court and led four Tigers in double figures with 19 points as he was a perfect 3-3 on three tries.

The Tigers will gear up for another tough road game on Saturday, a rematch against K-State who lost last night to Texas Tech.
